We are fairly busy orthopaedic clinic with many providers, nurses, and patients. Socrates is very user-friendly and intuitive. The software gives you everything from individual patient records to basic statistics, to reporting. You can be as simple or complex with data entry and reporting as you wish. We were able to scale internal trainings to reflect each user's needs and activities. Our staff started using it right away.
Technical support and communication with the developers are outstanding! They helped to train our super users, provided feedback on smoother incorporation of the software into our clinic flow, and solved many technical and human error issues. We made several suggestions on incorporating fixes or advanced features; the developers listened to us and were able to accommodate us. They make us feel as valuable customers and partners. The company, just like their software, is very user-friendly and intuitive!
It's been a great investment of resources for us, as we can monitor individual patients, providers, and processes. We can receive technical support on a timely basis. The Department has been using Socrates for almost a year. Socrates is not just a software package; Socrates Ortho is a team of people that are dedicated to your needs as a user, from exporting data, troubleshooting to tailoring the system to your needs. I started working in orthopaedic research with a different software and decided to switch over to Socrates as I was experiencing issues with the other product.
This decision paid off, as Socrates has proven to be a fantastic tool for orthopaedic clinical research.
The software is user friendly and offers plenty of options to make day to day data collection easier (webscores and scanning questionnaires). The software is customable and allows users to set-up their own protocols, keywords and questionnaires.
Analysis is user friendly and all searches can be saved which makes it very easy for users to run regular reports in a simple and quick way.
Customer service is excellent- with Robyn and her team are always happy and ready to help in a timely manner.

In the time that I have been using Socrates, the customer service has been exemplary. Whenever I have had a question or concern, I have received support within 72 hours, but more typically, 24. Despite that fact that Sydney is 18 hours ahead of Denver, I have been able to schedule phone calls to address my questions, speak to a live person, and get answers. Additionally, I have received support via email correspondence, an appropriate alternative for questions that can be answered without a conversation. I also have access to a contact person in the US, too.
The software is easy to learn and utilize. I continue to find new gems within the software; the more I use it, the more I find ways to apply it that subsequently make my life easier and more efficient.
I run reports on an almost weekly basis, and am always so amazed that I can generate a report in less than 5 minutes. The reports get exported from Socrates to the file of my choosing (PDF, excel) with essentially a touch of my finger.
I look forward to continuing to not only use Socrates as I currently do, but to continue to learn about the possibilities within this software.

I am the Research Coordinator at a two surgeon practice. We really like Socrates, the ease of use and data organization is great. No human error with data input into excel, SAS, or SPSS.
