Apart from the patient’s surveys and scores, there is a lot of data that can be entered by the clinicians based on what their objective in using Socrates is. Data that can be collected by the clinicians includes:
- Clinical examination and range of motion
- Intraoperative details
- Comorbidities, pre-existing conditions and medications
- Complications
Where applicable we have put as many shortcuts as we can, and we have tried to make data entry as quick as possible. For the clinical examination and ROM, there are generally “normal” checkboxes which will populate the fields with the normal ranges. The intraoperative screens will allow the user to save the defaults for commonly performed procedures which can be populated with a single click. As with anything new, it takes a while to learn your way around a new system and become adept and speedy at entering the data. There is also a feature which can create an operation or examination report to your own specifications from data entered into Socrates. No more dictation!
